Is DC a good place to visit for the summer? are there any clubs/parties that are always poppin on the weekends?
Can anyone suggest clubs to visit if me and my ls's choose to go there? or maybe recommend another city other than Vegas and Miami?

Love/Dream is always poppin. But I think Friday night is the night to go. They have concerts and after parties there a lot. Zanzibar is more of the grown and sexy feel. I'm not a clubber, but I'd say H2O might be a mix between the two. It's similar to Love but not as big. Both Zanzibar and H2O are on the water front. I'm sure some other folks might have other suggestions. There's a place called Mirrors which is more of a lounge, but I've never been there. There's a few places in the downtown area but I'm drawing a blank on the names... K Street Lounge sounds familiar, also 1223 and Ozio. There's a new on on NY Avenue, maybe someone else can remember the name. I guess it depends on the age group and style of you and your LS's.
As far as weather I think summer is the best time to be here. It's hot, but that's my kind of weather.

LOL! ;D ;D Um...well, IMO Love is played...maybe b/c I started going when it was Dream about a good decade ago....but that being said, it's only for "clubbers"....if you like to dress up, hold up the wall, and sweat buckets...its a hot spot. Is Mirrors still open? My girl used to bartend there... H20 is hood...and its a younger crowd....they act crazy. My LS ex's brother got killed there this past summer. Plus be careful on the waterfront after dark. Havent been to Zanzibar but Ive been told its cool and def for the grown and sexy. Great b/c everyone has a job thats there and there is no drama. Ibiza is cool. It feels very "Vegas" (or what I'd imagine Vegas to feel like...lol) K Street is good on Wednesday/Thursday for the professional crowd during happy hour. Lima is cool...again, gets crowded. Play is ok...depends on the night though. Mahogany Lounge is cool on Sat. They usually have a mellow crowd, spoken word, MC, etc. Next door is Liv. 1820M (?) is a new spot, havent been but heard it was ok. Ozios if you dont mind alot of people or cigarette smoke. Just about the only "club" that you can smoke in. But the DJ is usually good and the crowd is big. Wed are good there believe it or not. Fly Lounge is small but quite impressive. It's decor is like the inside of an airplane....love it but its TINTSY! Summer time: the Sunday hotspot is Sequoias in G-town although they are trying to change that. Then there is always Republic. lol... I'll keep thinking.... |

Avenue is on NY but uhhhh...I wouldnt recommend....again, more of a club.

LOL. I said I didn't have a lot of club experience Priss.  But I have been to Ozios and the smoke is serious. You smell like a cigar before you even make past the first floor. They smoke that different kinda stuff when you get to the 3rd floor. LOL. It's always crowded though, because its so small. Indebleu has a yummy fruity drink. Priss, I think we need to get the group back together for another outing. I used to like that Martini place but it moved to Bethesda... Juste Lounge. |

I've never heard of anyone getting shot at Republic...esp. bc its right in the U St corridor...maybe years ago, but not anytime since it's re-opened. RG is now an older crowd for the most part...Its very much open. People get shot at H20...that's where the young dummies go to act a fool. They act retarded at Platnium too.

LOL Damie these are spots that were hot back in the day but closed down. Look back a few were some straight hell holes but you could get your party on in them.
