Nupey, i think its a picture from KAN's first house party. And now that i look more closely i see babies in the picture. Let somebody bring their baby or kids to a college house party nowadays.

Black folks had so much class back then across the board whether they were rich or poor, educated or uneducated. Can we get back to that mindstate for the love of God.

Yeah, i peeped this fb group like last week or so, i think its one of the better facebook groups and probably one of best greek/black history ones ive ever seen. It's alot of lost history finally being back to the forefront. I love the internet when its productive.

Akbar...you're right. I was thinking about that while looking at pictures of the civil rights movement. People marched and picketed in suits, stockings, heels, etc. They wanted to be seen as dignified and classy. We've really lost that. Even if we dress more casually, we can still keep that same mindset...it seems like it has been lost.

Black folks had so much class back then across the board whether they were rich or poor, educated or uneducated. Can we get back to that mindstate for the love of God. Our folks had so much more respect for THEMSELVES back in the day. Our family units were tighter, and the children were being taught dignity and respect for their parents, grandparents and THEMSELVES. They also valued EDUCATION. While many of our parents, grandparents may not have been college educated themselves, they broke their backs to make sure that the CHILDREN would have an opportunity to pursue degrees. Many now don't know what the kids are doing, and don't care!
