In Kappa, Kwads are the hardest working, most to prove klub, undisputed...Tre Klubs come a close second, but ANY Nupe whose a Kwad knows the importance and weight Kwads carry.

2 is more efficient than 3
1 can chase 1,000, but 2 can chase 10,000...
3 is not even mentioned because it's overkill

I never understood the big deal about clubs, particularly giving shouts out to your "club" that is in another organization. Plus, your club or line number is determined differently depending on where you pledged. If you are in an area where your number is earned (like the Midwest--right, Southie?), then I can see having a sense of pride in that number. But if you got your number based on height, then who cares, really? I used to put my line number on para and it helped identify me within my particular chapter of my particular organization, but I feel no affinity for that number worn on the paraphernalia of any other organization. I may be in the minority, but that is just my $.08.

That whole sands thing is definately a post 80's phenomenon. The only people that I refer to as my sands are the ladies that I pledged with and actually CROSSED THE SANDS with. I think a lot of folks who use that term do not actually know what it means. But crossing the sands is an actual event, the final act of pledging. If folks really knew, they wouldn't be throwing that term around so lightly.

It probably depends on the region. My aunt crossed Delta in the early 80s, and her line position was based on height as well. But her line was tallest to shortest...so the tail was the shortest person.

That was my home away from home. My best friend from high school pledged there, I used to make frequent trips up there. Good times!! Tell my Delta Beta Sorors I said Skee-Wee...on second thought that may not be a good idea... And oh yeah, them sands was no joke! At the end though, we were so emotional, just crying and hugging each other...even the big sisters.

However, we always have a good time. Old School House Music!!
