Groups like the Kappa League, Delteens, AMOT and others are LEGITIMATE youth groups that are mentored by the members of the repsective fraternities and sororities. I'm familiar with those.
It's these made-up groups who go out and sanction THEMSELVES as auxiliaries of our greek-lettered orgs.

my friends in high school were Delta Diamonds. They might actually be Deltas now.
I had never heard of Kappa LEague until I got to college and they were always on campus.

Look at the history of Nu Omega Rho
In the beginning, Carlton July, former Public Relations Officer for the Mobile Kappa League, left the organization in search for something more. After his departure, he joined up with another young man by the name Carlos Jones, a senior at Shaw High School who had yet to get a taste of the Jr. Greek experience. Sharing a common vision, the two realized that the Jr. Greek Scene had degenerated fort he most part into fashion shows, popularity contests, and "mess", with hardly anyone placing an emphasis on the brotherhood, sisterhood, or community service. Extremely disturbed what they saw, they decided that they would become the "shining lights" in a Jr. Greek scene in which they felt greatly needed it. Together, they created in their heads a dream which would later become Nu Omega Rho. Two days later, they would unite with Christopher Ramos, and Dexter Randle, students at Murphy High School who were also prominent members as well as officers of Mu Kappa Phi Music Fraternity. After joining together, they held a meeting at a secret location in Municipal Park. After hours of discussion, they immortalized themselves forever by officially founding/forming Nu Omega Rho. The four of them would collectively be known as the "Four Eternal Diamonds" as their memory would forever live in the minds of thoughts of both the present and future members. Within less than a weeks time, two more young men would be inducted into the brotherhood of Nu Omega Rho, there names were James Turner, a sophomore at Shaw High School, and Geoterius Tolbert, a junior at Alma Bryant High School. With the addition of those two members, they would form the charter line of the organization and would also be immortalized in Nu Omega Rho history as the "Six Disciples of Apocalypse." Later, seven more young men would join into the brotherhood of Nu Omega Rho, being the secondary line, they owuld be immortalized as the "7 Doggz of Dynasty." The dog was officially chosen as the mascot of the organization, because of their humble beginnings. As the organization began to come "full circle," the record-setting Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast area in which they lived, though their area was spared. So in remembrance of this life-altering event, the general membership voted and approved that the basic forces of nature(earth, wind, fire, lightning, etc) would serve as secondary mascots(or symbols for the organization). With everything firmly established. The "dogs" were set be let out of their cages. And The Rest Was History...
One of the "Four Eternal Diamonds" left the Kappa league "in search of something more". I wonder who Nu Omega Rho patterns themselves after??

I seem to remember a high school group called Club Esquire out of Birmingham about 20 years ago. I thought it was just some youngsters who'd formed their own club. That ^^^ is some mess that goes way beyond a high school club.

I have been approached by my Chapter President about possibly starting a " teenage girl mentoring aux" at one of the local high schools.
That's fine. However, I am dead against having my group or any other orgs' aux acting like they are greek.
Example: Some Sorors and I went to a local college homecoming step show. Traditionally, the arena floor is reserved for Greeks. We get on the floor, and there are all these high school auxs mixed in with the UG and Alumni Greeks. They were wearing jackets, stolling, throwing up signs, and calling. We were like, WTF! Did I mention disrepectul as well!
Being in Kappa League, Sigma Beta, Delta Jems, and whatever else is nice; but they are by no means Greek. The advisors/sponsors of these groups (in my area) seriously need to reevaluate their purpose. As stated earlier, its now become a competition, and their real purposes has been lost.

Over 95% of them will go to college and never pledge Rho. So sad for shame but true.
