LMBO --- WAIT...I was SO guilty of this! My Barbies couldn't keep their earrings or NOTHING (way back in my pre-tomboy days)! I know, right? And those tiny, tiny little shoes...I'd ALWAYS lose those--they never stayed on. I always pretended I was taking my Barbies to the "beach" when I got in the bathtub. I even had a little tiny beach towel, a radio, and pretend food so they could have a picnic. |

I have Ivy Rose, the doll made by the Soror and she is beautiful!! I came very close to buying 2 as I have 2 little legacies that I would like to pass the doll down to. But now she has sold out so I guess I will buy a Mattel too.
The Ivy Rose doll will be included in the Grammy gift bags too. It is expensive, but only 500 were made, so it will increase in value which may be important to collectors. I am not a collector, but I did want to have her to pass down to my daughter(s).
In terms of the price though, we have to remember that Mattel is a huge, impersonal company and the Soror that created Ivy Rose is an entreprenuer who created the doll to celebrate our centennial. It was a labor of love for her.
