If it's not Hilary, I think he may select Edwards as his running mate...IF he gets the nomination.

There was a guy on Bill Maher that said it had been mentioned (although he didn't know if it would actually go anywhere) that McCain might choose Condolezza Rice as his running mate. For the folks focusing on "firsts" rather than issues, it kills two birds with one stone and people like her. I dunno, If he ran against Hillary it may work... although I think Obama has this locked up. Based on the buzz around the DMV it seems that's who we're voting for this week.

I think Obama/Edwards would be a KNOCKOUT ticket.

I was thinking Obama/Richardson but then I thought about the ticket having a Black man and a Mexican man....Hmmmm.....
Anyway...they would be a great team. Barack with the inspiration and ideas and Richardson with the experience to add weight.

Sapphy...I heard that Condi theory too. However, I don't know that she carries a lot of weight with the black base that the republicans would be trying to steal from Obama

Well, Obama is meeting with Edwards TODAY. It has not been said what they are going to talk about. I'm interested to find out.

Edwards met with Hillary already. They are discussing endorsements and delegates. Edwards still holds some delegates from the early primaries. Not that those delegates would automatically go for Hillary or Obama but those that voted for him could go for whomever he endorses.
Also...Edwards is a superdelegate....

From what I read, most of Edwards' supporters (voters, unions, campaign personnel) have already put their weight behind Obama. Edwards and Obama are going to wait to meet because of the crazy media attention the meeting is getting. Hillary had to meet with Edwards without the knowledge of even her top travel staff because of the attention.
I'd love to see Obama and Edwards on the same ticket. Or even Edwards as Obama's AG. Someone said that Edwards would sell out if he endorsed Hillary over Obama and I agree. I think Obama and Edwards are politically quite similar.

What's a super delegate Cam? Sapphy, this is what Wikipedia says about them:
Basically, they are the tiebreakers.
If they go against the will of the voters this year, there will be HELL to pay!

I filed yesterday to become a delegate from my state. It's a long shot but I want to go to the state convention and participate in the process. Political baptism by fire!
Wish me luck. This will be a historic year in presidential politics and I want to be a part of it.

What's interesting, Sista is that I will have to campaign for the spot.
I will have to get up at the State Convention amongst all of the Obama supporters and convince them that I am worth sending to Denver for the National Convention. Others will be doing the same but there will be many influential people there and every year (from what I hear) there are new comers who introduce themselves to the process this way.
It's going to be a learning experience. I filed yesterday and the State office gave me a list of all the state delegates who will be voting on me. I can contact them and schmooze and do all of that.

So why were so many people still on the ballot today? Edwards and Kucinich were listed even though they dropped out.
P.S. Thanks LadyL

I was watching a bit of Larry King a few minutes ago and they had a bunch of politically active celebrities on. They all agreed that it would be a bad idea for Obama to select Hillary as VP, but that she wouldn't have a choice but to pick Obama. Both a republican and a democrat suggested Jim Webb from VA as a good running mate for Obama.
*Just sharing the news*

Jim Webb does have military experience I think... he might indeed make a good choice.
