The storms ripped apart homes and a shopping mall, and trapped residents of university dorms and a retirement home in debris. The trail of death stretched across four states, with four people killed in Alabama, 13 in Arkansas, seven in Kentucky, and 28 in Tennessee.

Yeah, they actually made us seek shelter at work for about a half hour this morning. I heard several people were killed slightly west of me.

I'm glad everyone is ok. One of the tornados ran straight into my cousin's car while she was still in it! Luckily she survived it.

Yeah she was right by the Hickory Ridge Mall. The car actually lifted in the air. Those sirens are one thing I definitely don't miss about Memphis.

I tried driving by there today and they have Winchester blocked from about Kirby to Hickory Hill - they say it tore up some restaurants across the street from the mall

Yeah, the car was lifted, but it wasn't flying around or anything lol All the car windows exploded. WOW! are u serious??! the car was lifted?! Thats what I was asking  She was out and about with a friend I guess. I use to drive all the time in Memphis in bad weather. I guess I never just worried that much about an actual tornado touching down. not to be funny....but why was she out driving anyway?? I'm glad everyone is ok. One of the tornados ran straight into my cousin's car while she was still in it! Luckily she survived it. |
