I love music. I'm a nerdy type....
I love jazz (straight-ahead) and old-school R&B. Rap is still a favorite, but it's not mood-setting enough....
I'm emotional. I listen to music that fits my mood. This is due to my very complicated upbringing that has yet to be validated or addressed, so in the interim, music soothes my soul and validates my past.
Reading is the same. I read what addresses my outlook and upbringing. For those reasons, I tend to read non-fiction and reality-based fiction. Right now, I'm reading a book by educator Steve Perry. I just finished a book by James Joyce, an old book called " A Portrait of the Artist as a young man"...
What about you?

I love music. Pretty much all kinds with the exception of heavy metal and hard rock. With rap, I listen more to the track than the lyrics because well, today's hip hop has lost it's way. I absolutely love the smooth sultry sounds of soulful R&B. I love love songs and haunting melodies. Music is just amazing to me.
Reading is, oh my goodness!!! Reading is my ultimate high. I love to lose myself in a book. A real book. Not that Kindle/Nook/Tablet crap. Curl up in my favorite chair by my favorite lamp with my favorite blanket with a cup of hot tea or a glass of wine with a cd of smooth grooving instrumentals playing softly in the background...... sigh......
I don't have a favorite genre, but I'm not into the "fantasy" witch/wizard/werewolf/vampire stuff (with the exception of the Twilight Saga). I'll give a book 4 chapters to catch my interest (some authors are a bit slow with the character development) before I discard it. Ask anyone who knows me, I hardly ever go ANYWHERE without a book nearby. Once, while out celebrating my cousins birthday, I actually pulled a book out in the club. I found a light and stayed there until it was time to leave.
I'm such a geek. And I love it. LOL

My prophyte's first gift to me was a crisp red Frat shirt with the words "Revenge of the Nerds" and #4 on the back because of my insatiable penchant for reading.
But never in da club.... holy smokes and gee whiz!

I've never read in the Bible that the missionary position is where you can really hit it vs. doggy style....for example

I love pretty much all music. My iPod has everything from Gospel to Heavy Metal. I like old school R&B and Rap but I do like some of the new stuff. I have several favorites like Outkast (ATLien here), Jill Scott, Janelle Monae, Yanni, and many more.
I definitely tend to listen to different things depending on my mood. I don't really just turn on the radio and let it ride. Even in the car I know exactly what I want to here.
When it comes to books I like trashy romance novels peppered with biographies and other nonfiction. I could probably read anything if the author is good.
