I am a lurker. I have lurked on this site, on and off for the better part of 5 years. Wow, it's really amazing to see how that sounds all written out. I'm amazing myself as I write.
Anyway, there were 312 "guest" the past 24 hours and 11 "guest" currently. The person who told me about this site years ago has been lurking this site on anf off since he left a year ago....
What gives? How do you have over 300 guest that don't participate?
What do you think is the % of guest that were active participants on OO/OOA?
I wasn't even an active participant, and I couldn't wait to log-on and just read the dialouge....I can't imagine having been an active user and staying away and just lurking everyday....what are..or who are peolple waiting on?

Its really entertaining to just sit back and watch some time. There are times when I just want to be entertained and not actually have to participate. As you know it's very easy to lurk this board. I currently lurk another board but have no desire to join.
Note: A lot of the guest could be BOTs as well.. Since there has been an increase recently more BOTs are visiting the site based on topics and keywords... there was an average of 20 members a day... I would say almost 35 on the old OO. On really hot topic days we could see almost 50 members within a 24 span.
There are a few old posters I know are lurking... They will post when they feel like it I guess...
I'm going to post while I still have the desire to...

Honestly, the perpetual lurking is part of the bull$h!t that I NEVER liked about OO. I used to refer to it as "n!gg@s stealing cable".
I do not understand it, I never had, and when I bounced, I rarely if ever lurked. In the time I was gone, I visited like 4 times in 2 years, and usually at the prompting of someone asking me to check out someting on OO.

also don't forget OO was a spin off of the stophazing discussion board. A lot of the old posters went back there.. I lurk sometime.. but... eh...

I was scared when I first started posting (HAZerville...) We have some straightforward no-nonsense posters and if you can't take cristicism, cynicism, or just plain jabs then you won't last. I take the good with the bad. It's just like real life we won't/don't always agree but hey everyone is entitled to their opinion.
