So, as the weather warms and the social activities increase folks are looking for new (and old) ways to imbibe this season. Do you have any old favorites? Anything you've been meaning to try? Do you believe that certain spirits are for certain seasons? Run it, please.

Spirits for certain seasons?? I dunno...but I do try and stay away from Sunset Rum in the summertime. It's like a natural thermogenic.

In the summer I do less straight liquor and more cocktails. I live in Florida who wants to start sweating and pass out off whiskey at high noon...
Big Easy - A Sour Rum concoction that's found at Harry's or Po' Boys
STRONG Long Island Ice Teas
Whiskey and Sweet Tea
Actually.. anything with Tea or Lemonade....

Sorry but I don't mix Whiskey with anything regardless of the time of year...I find that highly disrespectful.

I can get with this. I'm not a cocktail person usually, but when it's hot, I will partake in a "long drink." Mojito, Sangria, Caipirinha, gimlet, LIT, hard lemonade, that kinda thing. Also, I don't have anything against a well-crafted whiskey (incl. bourbon) or brandy (incl. cognac) cocktail for social occasions. In summer and on vacation, I tend to do a lot of drinking outdoors. In those cases, I try to keep the chaser to liquor ratio pretty high. In the summer I do less straight liquor and more cocktails. These days I CANNOT eff with a margarita. Not sure why, but I just cain't do em no more. In undergrad, we useta knock back 22 oz. ones from Mad4Mex like they were goin outta style. Now all the sugar/syrup grosses me out. When my friends grab a margarita, I'll get a double shot of Sauza with lime and call it a day.

hmm...looks like one of my comments was never posted. I was saying that I'm on the spirits for different seasons bandwagon as well. In the summer I focus on white rum (instead of dark and gold), flavored spirits (in the winter, gimme straight, and gimme neat!). I almost never drink vodka unless it's in a summer cocktail or long drink. You might even catch me sipping Ketel on the rocks in the summer (outdoors and at night). I tend to shun tequila in the winter unless I'm on vacation.

I'm not really a brown liquor kinda girl. The majority of my brown liquor experiences resulted in me hugging the toilet all night and/or sleeping on the bathroom floor because the tile was the only thing gool enough the bring down the temperature of my seemingly fire consumed body.

I hate gin. Always have. However, through my side hustle, a popular gin brand contacted me to ask whether I would allow them "make me a believer" later this month. Should be interesting. Stay tuned for the details of that experience

I can't mess with any Tequila thought, she's straight up trifling and doesn't agree with me. Tequila is no friend of mine.

Tequila use to mean a guaranteed hangover..... but last time me and Leja were together we took about 0160419016194460164968 patron shots and neither of us had a hangover the next day.

baby showers? hangovers? Sounds like my kind of party.
on an off note, my younger cousin turned 21 yesterday. Found out first hand that she can't handle ANY liquor, much less a summer cocktail
