Update: The motion was carried and approved to suspend the Beta Chapter. We had 11 e-sorors participate and the vote was unanimous. I have created a thread.

Okay e-sorors, Feb. is almost here. Thank you all for the fabulous ideas. We'll need lots of participation to ensure that we host successful events. So here's what we've got: 1) Black History Jeopardy/Trivia Game (General Section) - Can I get a few volunteers to come up with the questions and organizing the event? Southie, Chal and Lizbeth? Any others? 2) I like Southie's idea of doing sort of a tribute like we did last year for Women's History Month. Since Feb. is Oscar month *makes mental note to do the Oscar pool* how about we do a tribute to Black's in the arts? I can coordinate this event and I'll try to see if we can get Hyp to write a nice poem. BP has also agreed to assist. 3) I also like the black history month homework thread that was created last year in the general section. We can encourage members of the board to post information about a notable person or event in black history... as a twist, maybe we can encourage lesser known people, or maybe do inventors... kind of like a "we made that" thread. If you think this will conflict with the trivia, we can skip it, just let me know. Please feel free to comment, make suggestions or share your thoughts on these events. If everyone is in agreement, we'll proceed accordingly. We should have at least one event before the end of the second week in Feb. And maybe the "we made that" or notables thread can be ongoing. How about this for the categories.... these are just ideas. Everyone else feel free to chime in.
Power to the People (questions relating to civil rights, politics, historical or notable figures/events, movers and shakers)
And the Award Goes To... (Any question related to Black Atheletes, Actors, Writers, Literary Characters, Musicians or Artists)
Starts with the Letter B, H or M (Self explanatory, the answer (first names, last names, team names, invention names, cities, countries, record labels, etc. must be short so the B, H or M is obvious) will start with the letters in Black History Month)
BGLO Trivia (this could be questions related to org's contributions, achievements or notables in Black History that are members of BGLOs)

The last e-line hasn't been active and so we voted to suspend the e-chapter. SMH We'll only be selecting people that are active on OOA and have a demonstrated support for this board rather than lack luster SH folks. Let's hope they start putting in some e-work so their chapter can be reactivated.
